Filip Mirazović (b. 1977, Šabac, Serbia) has lived in France since 1992 and works in Paris. He graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2003, in the studios of Vladimir Veličković and Christian Boltanski, and works in oil on linen and canvas, in the lineage of classical painting. His interiors and landscapes are built out of marble, porcelain and buttoned leather, materials that carry class and money, and he uses them as substitutes for the body: veins in the marble stand in for blood vessels, polished leather reads as dead skin, and a scratch or a dent suggests a real person pushing at the inside of a constructed, almost post human shell. Since 2010, with the Usurper's Realm series, the work has turned on power, Western conservatism and the state of painting itself.
Solo exhibitions include Black Marble, Gold Veins at Lazy Mike, Seoul, A Morbid Empire, Domus Aurea and Don't Want to Heal at Galerie Mariska Hammoudi, Paris, Innerlandscape at the Centre culturel de Serbie, Paris, and Figura X u Prostoru Y at Galerie Sanjaj, Belgrade. His work was included in Immortal: Vitality of Young French Figurative Painting at MO.CO. Hôtel des Collections, Montpellier (2023), and in Objecting Reality at WOAW Gallery, Hong Kong, curated by Saša Bogojev (2024). His work has been covered by Juxtapoz and Hypebeast.
Mirazović has worked with Plan X since 2024, when the gallery presented his work at Contemporary Art Now Ibiza, followed by his solo exhibition Cryptomnesia in Milan in 2026.
